George K. Howell: Creator, Breaking into Broadcasting

I designed Breaking into Broadcasting as a place for aspiring broadcasters to find out about new trends & technologies, new job opportunities, and to learn tips of the trade from a variety of media professionals working in the business. Broadcasting is an evolving industry, but one thing remains constant - you have the ability to inform and inspire through your contributions to television, online, and radio broadcast platforms.
I am a journalist currently working in Atlanta, Georgia. Find me on twitter @brkngin2brdcst and @GeorgeKHowell. Over the past decade, I have worked as a beat reporter, a documentary producer, radio contributor, and news anchor in various television markets across the United States. I am truly excited about the opportunity to help you get started in the business!
Check this blog each week to find fresh interviews and discussion topics posted by myself, and a variety of guest contributors:
- Tai Takahashi: Television News Director
- Haley Cihock: Television News Producer
- Krista Homiak: Media & Content Specialist
- Vicente Castillo: Photojournalist, Production Specialist
Breaking into Broadcasting is not a job placement program or talent agency. It is a project designed to help guide anyone interested in starting a career in broadcasting.
Anyone who knows me knows that I take great pride in working with people who are passionate about breaking into broadcasting. I’m a big believer in giving back, and paying good will forward. To me, this project feels like a natural extension. I hope you find the information, tips, and services offered through this site useful!
Breaking into Broadcasting is a project of the geoscope; Geoscope LLC. All Rights Reserved.
I wish you the very best in your exploration of broadcasting. It can be a lot of fun!
