Nielsen market research data shows that television viewership remains strong, even as content delivery options continue to multiply, according to recent article by Bloomberg News. The report shows people are actually watching more television in the United States, the world’s biggest television market. For broadcasters, the trend suggesting that the linear model of broadcasting scheduled content over television airwaves is still popular among viewers.

While viewers have more options to alter the way they consume the tv time-wheel – from DVR to video on demand, and online and mobile platforms – network executives say they are experimenting with new models, but suggest the “mass exodus” from traditional television viewing isn’t as dramatic as some may have expected.
